This week in the studio I've been marinating on some open calls, framing finished work, and making quick scribble sketches to loosen up a bit. I've been typing away at future blog posts and artist statements. These memes feel very accurate to where I'm at right now. I'm slowing down this month on art projects. I have so many BIG ideas for where im heading next artistically.
But, it's October which means it's time to start the Halloween costume for my daughter. It's time-consuming to make a costume and so that just means less studio time! This costume is quite ambitious and will involve quite a bit of foam. It's going to be very sculptural. I'll probably show you when it's all said and done. I can't tease ya like that and then not deliver photos!
This last week we made these paper clay vintage-inspired jack-o-lanterns! I am in love with them! Feeling really creative right now, I wish there were more hours in the day for all the art-making, Halloween crafts, fall activities, reading and spooky movies! There is just too much to do. Well, im off to enjoy a crisp walk through the fall foliage and then to sketch a bit. I think I'll finish the day with some reading by candlelight. I hope you enjoy the turning of the seasons!
