This Week: Out of the Studio

Updated: Jun 14, 2023

Got outta the studio for some inspiration this week. I love to get out and see great artist's work. This week was a real treat because I got to do just that.

I started a few books that are inspiring my work and life. Birth by Tina Cassady (inspiring my artwork) and What Artists Wear by Charlie Porter (inspiration for life and the joy of getting dressed).

We took a trip to the Rochester Art Center to see Nicole Havekost's installation titled Matriarchate. Loved it deeply! These sculptures (and her artist statement) are speaking to my soul! She is working on her "ladies" in a fishbowl type situation so you can observe her working and adding to the series! The exhibition will be up until April 2nd 2023. I encourage you to visit.

Art + Guitars just opened in Rochester, MN and we happened to stumble upon it. My husband has played guitar for almost 20 years and I, as you know, am an artist, so driving down the street we see a big colorful awning with Art + Guitars on it, we're going to stop! John, the owner, is a passionate artist and musician with some great stories to tell. We had a great conversation with him for over an hour! So if you are passionate about art, guitars, or music you will have a blast at his studio!

Oh, and I recently picked up a big ol' roll of canvas to finally start some larger paintings! I'm full of ideas. Stay tuned!

A Blog Update and Art in 2025

Blog Update I have run out of image storage for this blog. In order to post more images I would have to delete many images of my work...
